Religion

Program Goal

As the leading department at Catholic Central, the Religion program leads each student to have a deeper knowledge of the Catholic faith through the rigors of Catholic teachings and its relevance throughout their lives.  Through many opportunities, the students at Catholic Central will develop a greater love of God, respect for the dignity of all people, and appreciation of the value of all creation.  Along with the rigors of the curriculum, each student will have the opportunity to serve others in response to Christ’s call for justice and be people of conscience motivated by the Holy Spirit.  The curriculum follows the Framework established by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and all texts are approved by the ad hoc committee. All teachers for the Religion department are certified Master Catechists and have earned advanced degrees in Theology and Religious Studies.

Alumni Reflection

  • “I am truly blessed that my parents chose to send me to Catholic Central. The religion department was instrumental in providing me the moral framework, with which I use to navigate an otherwise crazy world. Without the values I learned at CC, I would not be the person I am today.”  Drew Kernosky, Class of 2009, Western Michigan University
