On this day – October 12, 1945 Private First Class Desmond T. Doss of Lynchburg, Virginia, is presented the Congressional Medal of Honor for outstanding bravery as a medical corpsman, the first conscientious objector in American history to receive the nation’s highest military award.

Girls Golf – Congratulations to CAROLINE FITZGERALD for advancing to State Finals for golf after a grueling round played in foul weather and difficult course conditions yesterday (10/11/17).
The team missed going to states by only 2 strokes.  Low scorers for our team were Caroline Fitzgerald, Katherine Teed, Nicolle Malson and Emma Harmon.  Great job girls!

Guitar Club! Ten minute organizational meeting at 3:05 today in N104 (Mr. Koch’s room). Bring a guitar if you want to play afterwards (until 4).

Earth club will meet after school this Thursday in the library/ASC.  See you there.  If you are unable to attend, please let Mrs. Kanitz or Mrs. Olson know.

2. This Friday, October 13 we begin Discernment and Doughnuts! Twice a month we will gather and discuss how to listen and discern God’s will in our lives. This group to all boys and girls in all grade levels. We will gather at 7:15am in the Chapel. Join Fr. Steve, Fr. Colin and Deacon Rybicki as we explore ways to listen and respond to God’s will with doughnuts! Any questions, contact Deacon Rybicki.

HOPE – If you missed last week’s HOPE meeting – there is new volunteer information and sign up sheets in Room 304.  Clark Home and Run thru the Rapids are both next week.

Football at Fifth Third – Aquinas College will be celebrating the Catholic rivalry at next Friday’s football game at Fifth Third Ballpark. Find us at the Aquinas RV during pre-game festivities to enter drawings for Aquinas gear and a chance at a $500 Aquinas scholarship. Winners will be announced between the 1st and 2nd quarters.

Fall Play – The crew meeting for You Can’t With You has been postponed until  Wednesday, October 11 after testing in the Music Room. This meeting will last 15 minutes or less for those who need to make ride home arrangements. Schedule of work dates, jobs available, and any questions you might have will be covered.

Music Therapy Career Day –  Interested in learning more about music therapy?  Attend this two hour event to gain an overview of the field of music therapy, observe live and video examples of music therapy interventions in various settings, and learn how to get started on your path to becoming a music therapist.  To register, please email and indicate your interest in Music Therapy Career Day.  Information about parking and directions will be included upon registration.
