ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY – December 5, 1933 The 21st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is ratified, repealing the 18th Amendment and bringing an end to the era of national prohibition of alcohol in America. At 5:32 p.m. EST, Utah became the 36th state to ratify the amendment, achieving the requisite three-fourths majority of states’ approval. Pennsylvania and Ohio had ratified it earlier in the day.

Friday is Doughnut December!  There will be doughnuts available at the School Store at 7:30 AM.  Doughnuts cost $1.00.

Cougar Gear Store will be open on December 10th & 17th from 6-8 pm at the CAT

Swim Team – In the first intersqual swimming meet last Friday, the underclassmen won against the upperclassmen by a narrow margin 87 to 85.  The swimming team will officially begin their season against perennial power East Grand Rapids on December 11th.  Good luck swimmers

Christmas Dance – Thank you to everyone who made the Christmas Dance a big success (Baking Club for helping with the cookies, Guest DJ’s, Saturday decorators, everyone who made decorations in Focus Time, Max and Emma for Co-Chairing the event, Erin and Eliza for organizing behind the scenes and Santa Eddie!)  We will keep the count down to Christmas updated everyday.
Some Students went out of their way to be extra festive for the event and our Holiday fashion police picked out a few folks to be recognized-so would Emma HarmonGarret Redmer, Nicole Drummond, Molly Holzgen and Catherine Tepper please stop by Mrs. DeYoung’s room to pick out something from the prize bag.

– Upcoming events:

Tuesday, December 11 –  Careers in Interior Design & Sales; and recently added: Tuesday, May 7 –  Careers in Health Care requiring 2 years or less of training!  Over 20 different career fields & industries will be featured over the course of the school year!  Events are filling up fast, so if a student sees a career they are interested in exploring, please encourage them to act quickly and get registered.  Get more details or find registration links on our  Talk & Tour webpage.
