QUOTE OF THE DAY

All great achievements require time.
Maya Angelou

On this day:   May 10, 1869, the presidents of the Union Pacific and Central Pacific railroads meet in Promontory, Utah, and drive a ceremonial last spike into a rail line that connects their railroads. This made transcontinental railroad travel possible for the first time in U.S. history.

Optional Spring Retreat
What do you think about when we say science and religion?  While many consider these to be opposites, they are actually quite similar.  In both science and faith, we seek to understand the unknown.  Sign up to explore how the two are related in a retreat atmosphere through your religion classes.
Open to grades 9-11, the retreat will be on Friday, May 19 from 8:00-2:30 pm.  The cost is free.  Only a signed permission slip is needed to attend.   Permission slips will be available through religion classes and will be due by Friday, May 12.   No additional attendees will be accepted after May 12.
