ALL NHS MEMBERS: There will be a short meeting on Thursday, June 1st before or after school in room 312.  Please attend one of the times – 7:45 or 3:05.  The meeting will briefly mention end of the year service hours and will give you the chance to vote for next years officers.  This meeting is re-scheduled from May 31st.  Thanks – Mr. DeWitt

Service Hours – Any service hours you complete during the summer will count toward next school year.  Please take some service forms home for over your summer break.
Class of 2018 – Please turn in your COREX Registration to the Main Office.

Kids Food Basket Youth Action Board  Applications for the 17-18 school year are available online!  Our YAB is an opportunity for high school students to get involved in their community. They will meet once a month for the school year, network with high school students from all over Kent, Muskegon, and Ottawa County, learn about food related social justice issues, and complete a service project over the course of the school year. This is a great leadership opportunity, and colleges and employers look upon it favorably on resumes! See photos of students by  clicking here.

For the new application click: New Member Application it is brief and will not take that long to complete. YAB is grades 9-12, so any 8th grade students heading into 9th grade next year are welcome to apply. The deadline to apply is June 30. We will be notifying all applicants mid-July.

Eucharistic Minister Training Training is being offered for students at least 16 years of age by next school year to be Eucharistic Ministers at our school Masses.  You must also be a confirmed and practicing Catholic.  Training isWednesday, June 7 from 11:15-12:45 in Mr. Kennedy’s room, N204.  Signups are available in your religion classes.

Merchant of Venice – Auditions for the combined cast Shakespeare production of The Merchant of Venice will be held on Friday, June 2 from 3:30-5:50 pm, Saturday, June 3 from 10 am-noon and 1 pm-3 pm and Sunday, June 4 from 1pm to 3pm in the Theatre Annex building at Aquinas College. Directions to the Theatre Arts Building and information the production will be available in the Main Office starting Tuesday, May 30. Any student may audition as no previous experience is necessary. This will be the 17th production in this series and these shows have attracted very appreciative audiences. Gather a couple of friends and give auditions a try. You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain!

SAT Prep Class – In preparation for the June 3 SAT exam, our next SAT Prep Class will be offered on  Tuesday, May 30. This is a 2-part class held in Mr. Koch’s classroom (room N104) both days from 3:15 – 5:15. The class covers all three sections of the exam with test strategies for each. The cost of the class is $65 payable to ‘CCHS’. Enrollment forms are available in Guidance and are due by Monday, May 22.
