ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY – September 13, 1814, Francis Scott Key pens a poem which is later set to music and in 1931 becomes America’s national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner.

Yearbook Ordering – Students will receive order forms for Yearbooks in English classes this week.  If you purchase a yearbook now, it is almost $10 cheaper than waiting until the end of the year.   Order and pay online.

Family Directories – Family Directories, provided by the Band Boosters are available in the main office for $10.00.

Juniors & Seniors – Listed below are the colleges scheduled to visit Catholic Central the week of September 10.  If you are interested in meeting with a college rep, you MUST sign up in Naviance 24 hours prior to the presentation start time.  Naviance will close registration exactly 24 hours prior to the start time of each presentation.

A variety of career paths will be highlighted throughout Kent ISD’s Talk & Tour Career Series this year. Designed for students in grades 7-12, these career exploration events are like getting 5 job shadows in one!  Come hear directly from a panel of professionals, ask your career questions, and tour the employer’s workspace. Parents are encouraged to attend!  Upcoming events: September 11 – Health Careers, and October 2 – Biomedical Technology

Homecoming Dance Tickets:  are on sale before and after school at the school store.  Tickets are $35 for a Couple and $25 for Stag.  Guest Passes are in the Main Office and due in the office by Wednesday, September 19, 2018.

All A’s –  The next All-A’s Collection Day is Friday, Sept. 14.  You can always drop off a donation in the Main Office if you bring it in on a non-donation day.

Extra envelopes are available with Mrs. DeYoung in 304 or Miss Green in S123.

Sign Ups  –  Club Sign Ups are taking place during Focus Time.  You can sign up on Thursday or Friday.  Check out all the various ways you can get involved this school year.

RECYCLING – There are tall blue recycle bins on each floor of both buildings.  *The recycle bin labeled Mixed is for water bottles, juice bottles, rinsed yogurt containers, pop bottles, etc.

*The paper bin is in addition to paper recycle bins in every classroom and office. Please help take care of God’s creation!

DETENTIONS –   Will be served on Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday at 7:10 am – 7:50 am & 3:05 pm – 3:45 pm.


  • Please turn in lunch applications to the main office by Thursday, September 30.
  • Lunch account deposits are to be brought to the main office first thing in the morning.  No deposits accepted at lunch time.
  • Cafe open at 7:00 am for breakfast
  • Don’t forget your smart snacks & water bottles for break time.
