Evening of Excellence Nominations 2019

We are already starting to plan for this year’s Annual Evening of Excellence on April 30, 2019. The focus of this night is to celebrate and acknowledge individuals who exhibit characteristics that reflect our Catholic faith. We encourage you to review the criteria (see below) for the following awards and nominate any suitable candidates by December 14th.

Distinguished Alumni Award

The distinguished alumni award is given to an alumnus/alumna who has made significant contributions in his or her field of endeavor.

Distinguished Alumni Award recipient criteria include:

  • Being an alumna or alumnus of Catholic Central High School.
  • Manifesting a Catholic commitment that reflects honor on Catholic Central High School.
  • Significant achievements within his or her work and/or life endeavor that contribute to service for others.

Dominican Spirit Award

The Dominican Spirit Award is given to a person who exhibits the values of St. Dominic, patron saint of the Order of Preachers, otherwise known as the Dominican Order. As a founder of many schools and convents, St. Dominic’s life and service to children and the materially poor, is well known.

This honor is bestowed on an individual whose professional and/or personal life reflects the attributes of freedom, protection, charity and apostolic zeal.  Criteria include:

  • Contributing toward the formation of individuals to reach their fullest possible development of their God-given talents.
  • Being charitable with his or her talents and expertise to effect change in the world.
  • Being well-formed as an Apostolic instrument in the service of others.

Lifetime Achievement Award

The Catholic Central Lifetime Achievement Award is given to an individual or couple who, throughout their lives, have demonstrated a strong commitment to Catholic faith and education; thus honoring the principles upon which Dominicans helped found Catholic Central High School more than a century ago.

Lifetime Achievement Award recipients:

  • Demonstrate a life of service to God and people.
  • Make significant contributions to society as leaders in business, civic and parish life.
  • Demonstrate the promotion of Dominican educational charism/values.
  • Inspire others to carry on/promote the Dominican educational charism.
