Our faith in action

fulfilling our Catholic call

As one of our four Dominican Pillars, service is a core part of the Catholic Central experience. We provide students with a variety of service opportunities and require them to perform five service hours per quarter (20 per year) as part of their Theology grade prior to senior year.

Christian Service Program

As Christians, we are called to live out the Gospel message by serving the needs of others. In order to develop sensitivity to this call of Jesus, the students at Catholic Central High School are invited to get involved in our Christian Service Program during each of their four years.

9th Grade:  20 hours, no more than 10 from family or school; the remaining 10 hours from parish and/or community.

10th Grade:  30 hours, no more than 10 from family or school; the remaining 20 hours from parish and/or community.

11th Grade:  40 hours, no more than 10 from family or school; the remaining 30 hours from parish and/or community.

12th Grade:  40 hours, no more than 10 from family or school; the remaining 30 hours from parish and/or community.

National Honor Society applications in junior or senior year will be evaluated based, in part, on these recommendations for service involvement. Time of service runs June 1 through May 31.

Parent  Stories

"Service is a big part of my life because it allows me to give back to those who do so much for others. I especially admire the missions of organizations like Kids’ Food Basket, as they are dedicated to helping individuals in need. By serving them in the process of achieving their goals, I feel like I can truly make a difference in the community and spread joy to those around me, which is why I started doing service work in the first place."
