Course Registration & Academic Opportunities

2026–2027 Course Registration (Grades 9–11)

Course registration requests for the 2026–2027 school year began this week. The Curriculum Guide has been updated with available courses.

Families are encouraged to review teacher-recommended courses and discuss elective selections with their student. Students will meet individually with their counselors during the school day through February 13.

Please note – Newly revised policy:
Course requests cannot be changed after February 27.

Kent Career/Technical Center (KCTC) Open House

The KCTC Open House will be held:

  • Wednesday, February 4 and Thursday, February 5
  • 5:00–7:00 p.m.
  • Kent ISD Main Campus, 1655 East Beltline (across from CAT)

The Open House offers an overview of all programs available at KCTC and is a great opportunity for students exploring career and technical education options. Students who attend the Open House and/or a KCTC visit may receive priority placement during enrollment. Be sure to sign in upon arrival.

College Dual Enrollment

College Dual Enrollment is available to students in grades 9–12 who are in good academic standing and receive CCHS administrative approval.

State of Michigan funding may cover tuition and, in some cases, textbooks for eligible elective courses (graduation-required courses are not eligible). Students must reserve space in their schedule for dual enrollment.

Students interested in dual enrollment must attend one College Dual Enrollment session during Focus time. Sessions are offered on:

  • Thursday, January 29
  • Tuesday, February 10
  • Thursday, February 12

Students can sign up through the Focus app.

Michigan Seal of Biliteracy

The Michigan Seal of Biliteracy recognizes graduates who demonstrate proficiency in English and at least one additional world language through approved assessment pathways.

Juniors (Class of 2027) who are proficient in more than one language are encouraged to apply. Interested students must complete the Seal of Biliteracy Interest Form by February 13 to register for spring testing.
There is no fee to test.
