Our Devotion to Mary, the Mother of the Church

Each May, we celebrate the feast of our patroness, the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church. We do so by adorning the statue of Mary in front of the school with flowers and placing a crown of roses upon her head. This simple act of devotion connects us to the multiple apparitions of Mary we celebrate throughout the year, including La Virgen de Guadalupe and our Lady of Lourdes, as well as our recitation of the Memorare at the end of each school day. For us, Mary is the Seat of Wisdom and Mother of the Poor. As her children, we look to her to learn how to walk alongside and support others, especially the most vulnerable. Striving to follow Mary’s example, our students grow into men and women for others. Caring for others as Mary, our Mother, cares for us.
