ROBOTICS NEWS - Congratulations to Catholic Central Robotics Team - the Spires - on winning the Muskegon District Championship! In alliance with Calvin Christian Robotics 8612 and That ONE Team Robotics 4967, the Spires showcased incredible skill, teamwork, and perseverance throughout the season.

A special thank you to Calvin Christian and That ONE Team for selecting the Spires as an alliance partner, and to the sponsors - Meijer, Array of Engineers, Wolverine World, and KOOPS Automation - as well as the coaches, mentors, school community, and families for their continued support!

LOST & FOUND - Our Lost and Found in the Student Center is currently filled with a large number of items, including water bottles, suit jackets, lunch boxes, and more. Students are encouraged to stop by and claim any belongings before Spring Break. Anything remaining after Spring Break will be donated.

RED GRADUATION CORDS - Attention Students Applying for Leaders for Life - Red Graduation Cords! If you’re planning to earn a Red Cord for graduation, make sure you attend Mrs. Perry's Focus Time on March 24. We’ll be sharing important information about requirements, deadlines, and how to make sure your donation hours are properly recorded. This session is important for all students hoping to receive a Red Cord, so mark your calendars and don’t miss it. Your future self at graduation will thank you.

COUGAR AWARD - Seniors - the Cougar Award is presented to student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional commitment to Catholic Central Athletics by competing in 11 athletic seasons across their high school career. Recipients of this award embody the school’s core values: hard work, perseverance, faithfulness to teammates, and pride in wearing the Cougar uniform. Their multi-season dedication strengthens not only their own development but the culture of excellence within every program they touch.

Eligibility Criteria - To receive the Cougar Award, a student-athlete must:

  • Complete 11 athletic seasons at Catholic Central High School - Each season must be an officially sanctioned MHSAA or school-recognized sport.
  • Seasons must be fully completed and in good standing.
  • Remain a student-athlete in good academic, disciplinary, and citizenship standing throughout their participation.
  • Exhibit meaningful commitment to their teams, including:
    • Regular attendance and effort in practices and competitions
    • Positive contribution to team culture
    • Demonstrated growth, resilience, and coachability
    • Represent Catholic Central with integrity, both on and off the field.  

If you believe you are eligible for this award, please either respond all to this email or come into the Athletic Office.  We will verify your eligibility in preparation for May.

BLOOD DRIVE - Mark your calendars! The final CC Blood Drive of this school year is happening April 17th, 2026. If you're 16 or older, this is your chance to make a difference - one donation can help save up to three lives! Bonus: Those who donate or volunteer multiple times may qualify for a special red cord to wear at graduation!

SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITY - DOGR Catholic Cemeteries is looking for dependable high school students who are at least 16 years old to help with summer grounds maintenance, mainly weed trimming and general upkeep. There are flexible working hours during the summer. If you're interested, visit the office at either Holy Cross Cemetery or Resurrection Cemetery to get more details and pick up an application.

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY - Current 9th graders- Leadership opportunity with GR Community Foundation:  Applications are currently being accepted for membership on the Youth Grant Committee. Current 8th and 9th graders (next year's freshmen and sophomores) can apply now using this online application! The deadline to apply is 5:00 pm on Friday, April 3- YGC application

CONGRESSIONAL AWARD - The Congressional Award is the United States Congress’ award for young Americans. It is non-partisan, voluntary, and non-competitive.The program is open to all 14 to 24 year olds and participants can earn Bronze, Silver and Gold Congressional Award Certificates and Bronze, Silver and Gold Congressional Award Medals. Participants may register at 13 ½ years old and are eligible to submit for the award at age 14. Gold Medals are presented at an annual ceremony every summer in Washington, D.C. The Congressional Award focuses on four areas:  voluntary public service; personal development; physical fitness; expedition/exploration activities.  Involvement in activities like 4-H, Scouting, aerobics, school and community sports, camping and other outdoor activities, high school clubs and activities, and other extra-curricular activities can help you achieve medal status in the Congressional Award. CATHOLIC CENTRAL INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE - Catholic Central Class of 2027 and 2028: you are invited to participate in the third year of the Catholic Central Internship Experience (CCIE). Please read below if you are interested in learning more and applying. This summer we are offering six internship placements: John Ball Zoo, The Center for Physical Rehabilitation, Stenger & Stenger Law Firm., New Growth Project, Arts in Motion, and Catholic Central Athletics, Admissions, and Advancement.

  • Tuesday, March 31st: CCIE informational meeting/panel at 2:25pm for interested students
  • Thursday, April 2nd: CCIE informational meeting/panel at 2:25pm for interested students
  • Monday, April 20th: Applications are due by 3pm
  • Tuesday - Wednesday, April 21st - 22nd: Internal review of applicants. Invitations to interview sent to students. Students have 24 hours to respond and schedule an interview. 
  • Friday, April 24th: Panel interviews 
  • Monday, April 27th : Candidates selected for round two and notified
  • Early May: Final Interviews with Internship Company Staff
  • Friday, May 8th: Selected candidates notified
  • Monday, 6/15 - Friday, 7/24: Internships
