HOMECOMING GUEST PASSES - Homecoming week, and the many fun events that come with it, is just around the corner! More details about the week and the dance, open to 10th-12th grade students, will be coming soon, but today we want to let you know that if you plan to bring a guest from another school, guest passes are available to pick up in the main office. Guest passes must be turned in by Friday, September 25th and require the signature of your guest's parents and school administrator. Please be sure to plan enough time to get this completed and turned in by next Friday.

SHADOW DAY VOLUNTEERS - In a few short weeks, we will begin welcoming shadow students to Catholic Central. This is an exciting time for our school and for the eighth graders who want to see what CC is all about. If you are interested in hosting shadow students this year, you must attend one of the two Focus Time sessions below. If you are unable to attend either session, please reach out to Mr. Hubert directly so we can set up another time to meet. During Focus Time, Mr. Hubert will walk through expectations, explain how to sign up, and answer any questions you have. 

The two Focus Time opportunities are:

  • Friday, September 18
  • Tuesday, September 22

STEAM OPPORTUNITIES

  • Friday  9/18 - Career Talk - Business - Madison Blackport, of Universal Forest Products talks about the UFP Business School and the opportunities surrounding business careers. - Sign up in Focus
  • Van Andel Journal Club Sign Up - The High School Journal Club introduces students to the work of scientists by critically evaluating current research. Participants collaborate in discussions, analyze journal articles, and develop advanced STEM thinking and research skills. Sign up with Mrs. VanderMolen, notification of acceptance by 9/25
  • Tech Week 2026 - lots of great community activities that relate to STEAM
  • Tuesday 9/22 - Career Talk  - Nursing - Jessica Stockel, a Registered Nurse at Trinity Health talks about nursing and the various careers associated with the medical field and nursing. Sign up in Focus.
  • Friday 9/25 - Career Talk  - Cosmetology - Allyssa Hagenah, from Douglas J Aveda Institute will come talk about opportunities surrounding careers in cosmetology.  Sign up in Focus.

All of these opportunities count as STEAM hours.  Let me know if you have any questions.
